On Saturday, 1 November 2025, Ongwediva came alive with the 4th edition of The Chase, a fun run and community event organised by Nictus in partnership with the Run Along Sport Foundation.
Despite a cool, cloudy start and a light morning drizzle, the spirit of togetherness shone brightly as over 400 participants from schools, corporate teams, and the local community gathered to take part in the 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km races. Among them were athletes with disabilities, including visually impaired runners, who showcased remarkable determination and courage.
Schools such as Eluwa Resource School, Lighthouse Academy, Ongwediva Senior Secondary School, and Erkki Tauya Junior Secondary School, along with major corporates including Nedbank, Bank Windhoek, BDO, FNB, Pupkewitz, Social Security Commission, Bank of Namibia, and Arysteq, joined forces to celebrate inclusion through sport.
This year’s theme, “Focus. Fight. Finish”, captured the essence of perseverance and unity that defined the event.
Arysteq’s Contribution: Supporting Wellness and Dignity
As part of our ongoing commitment to empowering communities, Arysteq Asset Management proudly sponsored refreshments to keep participants hydrated throughout the race. Water, energy drinks, and juice were provided for learners after their run, ensuring everyone stayed refreshed and energised.
But our contribution extended beyond the finish line. Arysteq also donated 480 packets of sanitary pads, benefiting 160 schoolgirls for the next three months. This initiative aims to reduce school absenteeism, promote gender equality, and empower young women to stay focused on their education.
At Arysteq, we believe true empowerment means addressing both immediate and long-term community needs, nurturing not only physical health but also confidence, dignity, and opportunity.
A Step Towards a Greater Cause
All proceeds from The Chase support the Run Along Sport Foundation, a non-profit organisation that promotes inclusivity through sport. The foundation creates opportunities for athletes of all abilities, promotes health and fitness, and drives social integration across Namibia.
As we reflect on this year’s success, Arysteq is proud to have been part of an event that embodies our values of community, resilience, and empowerment.
We measure success not only by numbers but by the effect our projects have on lives, from improved fitness and mental well-being to greater inclusion and empowerment. Sport is a powerful tool for transformation, and we aim to make next year’s event even bigger and more impactful.
The 4th edition of The Chase was more than just a run, it was a celebration of community, inclusion, and the transformative power of sport.
